British model Edie Campbell was born September 25th 1990 in Westbourne Grove, England. Her mother is architect Sophie Hick and her younger sister Olympia is also a model and actress, giving her name a ready-made association with fame and success. Edie, however, did not set out from the start to pursue a career as a model. She graduated from Saint Pauls Girls School and later on finished courses at Courtauld Institute of Art. Edie was also an accomplished equestrian with her horse Dolly. However, after he was discovered in 2006 by British Vogue editor Lucinda Chambers, Edie set off on the path that would lead her to stardom as a model. Soon after her discovery, famous photographer Mario Testino featured her in an issue of Vogue which soon led her to breakout into the fashion world. From that point forward, Edie has enjoyed a lucrative career as a model.
At the age of sixteen Edie had already walked the runway for Burberry. Along with this, the British model did many campaigns for designers such as Christian Dior, Bottega Veneta, Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, Hugo Boss, Yves Saint Laurent, Jil Sander and Louis Vuitton. She was a face for Marc Jacobs and still is for Burberry. She walked on the runway for huge fashion houses such as Chanel, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Yves Saint Laurent and Hermes. Edie has also been on many magazine covers and in editorials for Numero, Love Magazine, British Vogue, Italian Vogue, W, and American Vogue. She is currently working under the agency VIVA Model. Throughout the years she has had many accomplishments, both on and off the runway, working as a model.
Edie won the 2013 Model of The Year Award at the British Fashion Awards and is currently doing much better than the majority her competition in the modeling world. Along with modeling, Edie has shown an interest in writing and journalism as well. In 2013 she made a journalistic debut, writing a piece for Harpers Bazaar UK. Love Magazine also named her as a contributing editor for one of their pieces, giving her an admirable start into the world of journalism. It is still Edie’s modeling career, however, that continues to flourish the most. In 2014 she walked twenty-one of the most prominent shows at the spring fashion week, making her one of the most active models of the event. With all of this activity and success, it is hard to imagine Edie’s career going anywhere but up. Without a doubt, Edie Campbell is well on her way to being a supermodel.
