Charlie France is British, born in Stourbridge, United Kingdom in 1989. He was the average teenage boy enjoying sports like skateboarding, snowboarding, and scuba diving when a model scout discovered him. That was in 2008, at a skateboard contest in Cornwall. He may have been complimented but elected to complete his college studies before attempting a modeling career.
The Insecure Model
In 2009, Charlie was only 19 or 20 years old and still insecure about his appearance. He stated he was concerned, like most people, about fitting in. Well, he needs not have worried, as soon as he was available- Jill Sanders booked him for the Milan fashion show while under the management of Models 1. His second catwalk was for Hugo Boss in Paris, followed by the Burberry resort in New York. The Burberry was the place he met Emma Watson from the Harry Potter series- he indicated, it all seemed unbelievable at the time. He became the Face of Burberry that same year and was featured in their advertising campaigns. Editorials like the one for 10 Men magazine were enhanced by Paris runway shows for Hermes, Yves Saint Laurent, and Gucci.
By the second year in the business, he was far more confident in his looks and his ability to model. He walked in Milan and Paris runways, was published in several editorial magazines like NumeroHomme, and models.com as the one to watch.
Versace was added to the impressive list of designers who favored him along with Robert Geller. Charlie graced the catwalks in Milan, Paris, and New York again in 2011.
No End in Site
The designer’s interest in Charlie doesn’t seem to fade. The promise of success continues in 2013 through 2015. He was in the Clockhouse C&Alook book, the French Connections catalog and in Paris fashion week for Burberry. Louis Vuitton’s fall/winter ad campaign and River Islands catalog were enriched by Charlie France images in 2014. He represented Louis Vuitton’s brand in Iceland the same year.
Later in 2015 Charlie traveled to Jaipur India for another one of Louis Vuitton’s campaigns that brought notable reviews. Next were ESTNATION’s ad campaign as well as the Gentlemen’s Maker campaign and no doubt there is more to come. His modeling career has the full support of his parents. He is more successful than he thought possible. However, he has not abandoned his plans to return to the University for a Degree in marine biology. That would bring him full circle, from the seaside and back again.
