Tara Lynn

Tara Lynn is a well-known American plus-size model who has appeared in numerous publications, including the November 2013 cover of Elle Spain and the August 2014 cover of Elle France, which dubbed her “The Body.” In 2011, she appeared with several other models on the cover of Vogue Italia, and has been the face of H&M’s plus-size clothing line, particularly its swimwear selection. Although work is limited for plus-size models due to the fashion industry's preference for tall, slim runway models, Lynn has had much success in print media nonetheless. Lynn has been featured in editorials in Glamour Magazine, V, and Elle France. Her recent lookbook work includes Mas Moda El Corte Ingles in fall 2014 and the CR Fashion Book in fall 2013. She has also appeared in advertisements for Addition-Elle, Ashley Stewart Holiday, By S.Oliver, Clements Ribeiro for Evans, Couchel , Evans Denim, Kiyonna , Lucky Brand Jeans, Nordstrom, Plié, Taillissime, Torrid, Wacoal France, and Zizzi ZJ line. She was recently named one of the top 10 hottest plus size models by Complex, indicating a shift towards the acceptance of different body types in the fashion industry.

In addition to modeling professionally, Lynn holds a degree in linguistics and is a classically trained singer. She is an advocate for a more diverse representation of beauty in modeling, and often gives interviews about her own struggles as a plus-size model in the industry. She is also a close friend of fellow plus-size model Robyn Lawley, and the two of them are often cited as part of an ongoing trend towards body diversity in the fashion world. Lynn mentioned in a 2013 interview with Elle Magazine that she hopes to see more women like her appearing on the covers of mainstream American magazines (since she has been featured only on European magazine covers) and in beauty and fragrance advertisements in the future, and she looks forward to furthering her career in the world of fashion while also pursuing her other interests. Lynn has given interviews about facing body image issues when she was younger, which she says modeling has helped her to overcome. She does not take issue with the term “plus-size,” noting that it is a valuable distinction for clothing manufacturers and consumers, and hopes to see better plus-size fashions available in the future. Lynn finds inspiration in women like Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez who have embraced their bodies, and encourages other young women to do the same.

Agencies Lynn works through include IMG, F_Unique by Francina Models, Ford Models in New York, and Heffner Management in Seattle.
