Solveig

Solveig Mork Hansen is a Danish Fashion Model, born in April 13th, 1990 in Give, Velje, Denmark. The Danish beauty goes by one name professionally, “Solveig”, and was raised on a horse farm where she began riding at the age of 3. Following the path blazed by Danish beauties Dita Von Teese and Miranda Kerr, Solveig Mork Hansen has done covers for both Grazia and ELLE Italia.

She’s set to become a household name in 2015 with a new high profile campaign for lingerie giant, Wonderbra. 'She embodies the sophisticated spirit of the collections and looks stunning in the new Glam and My Pretty Push-Up styles”, says Martina Alexander, Marketing Manager at Wonderbra.

Career

Solveig Mork Hansen was discovered at age 14 by head booker Jesper Thomsen and his team at Unique Models Copenhagen. Her first professional modeling job was with Eurowoman magazine. Because she was so young, her first couple of seasons as a professional model were spent honing her trade on international runways. Solveig has walked the catwalk for Adam Selman, Charlotte Ronson and Maybelline.

Being a model means a lot of time on the road, and a lot of travelling, and for Solveig Mork Hansen this has led to sense of independence and maturity. “It matures you and I know what to do in a situation where most people wouldn’t exactly be prepared for”. Solveig Mork Hansen will make an appearance in the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. She lost to Kelly Rohrbach for the honor of 2015 Swimsuit Rookie of the Year, picking up 7 percent of the vote.

Wonderbra As the bosom representing the Wonderbra brand in 2015, Solveig joins former Wonderbra models Eva Herzigova and Inna Zobova in fronting this iconic brand. Eva starred in the brands “Hello Boys” advertisement. Shot in black and white, featuring the model staring down at her cleavage, the ad spurred an uproar as it was panned by critics as demeaning toward women. Eva said she found the ad empowering. Of Solveig, the company says “she embodies the sophisticated spirit of the collections and looks stunning in the new Glam and My Pretty Push-Up styles”. The photographs for the campaign were shot by Lee Broomfield.

Personal Life

She grew up on a farm with her dad and brothers, and while she doesn’t have her driver’s license, she loves cars. As part of a promotional campaign for Big O Tires she spoke on camera about her favorite road trip. While in Australia, a friend came and picked her up in Sydney at 6am and the pair drove up the Northern beaches to watch a friend surf until sunset.

She tells Sports Illustrated “I'm a big nerd. Huge. I was crazy about school. I read a billion books; I'm into fantasy and sci-fi and all that. When I turned 11 I started reading books in English and never wanted to read anything else. I love Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, but the first big book I ever read was Harry Potter. I kept waiting for that letter from Hogwarts, hoping it would show up one day. My mom and I are even going to Harry Potter World soon”.
