Rosie Alice Huntington-Whiteley
Rosie Alice Huntington-Whiteley, an English model and actress, was born in Plymouth, United Kingdom on April 18, 1987. She has been involved in a long term relationship with actor Jason Statham since 2010. The oldest of 3 children, Rosie grew up on a rural farm where the family raised a myriad of animals, including horses, chickens, sheep, and pigs. She launched her modeling career at age 16.
Heavily influenced by her personal trainer/mother, who had her own sense of fashion and style, a young Rosie Huntington-Whiteley would spend time flipping through the pages of Vogue with mom before joining the ranks of professional models. She would cover her bedroom walls with photos of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, though she didn’t dream of modelling at first, it was more important to simply escape the farm, aspiring to a more glamorous urban lifestyle.
Career
Her first interaction with the professional modeling world came at age 15 through a work placement at a London based modeling agency, a paid internship where she completed a variety of support tasks and odd jobs.
Her first paid job was a Levi’s ad that came about after a new agent spotted her in the office and asked if she would be interested in modeling. With first paycheck firmly in hand, she bought a car at her parent’s insistence. By age 18 she had successfully transitioned to the fashion scene in New York City, scoring campaigns with in Teen Vogue, ELLEgirl, Tommy Hilfiger, and the French Connection. Later she appeared at the Vogue runway show alongside Gisele Bündchen and Karolina Kurkova.
In 2008, she made the British cover of Vogue for the first time, and took over as the brand model for Burberry from Agyness Deyn. In 2009 she got her wings when she became a Victoria's Secret Angel. She is currently working on her own fragrance line, “Rosie For Autograph”, set to launch in 2015. Her next feature film, Mad Max: Fury Road, is due out in May of 2015.
Transformers The 24 year old was picked to replace Megan Fox in Michael Bay’s third entry in the Transformers Saga, Dark of the Moon, after Fox was dismissed for criticizing Bay in British magazine Wonderland, saying Bay “wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he's a nightmare to work for.” The choice was largely panned by critics with headlines reading: “Come back Megan Fox, all is forgiven”.
The film went on to gross $97 million dollars in the US its first weekend, and was deemed a commercial success, despite the early critical reviews.
Relationship Rosie celebrated her 5th anniversary with Jason Statham in March of 2015. Statham told USA Today he is attracted to Rosie’s nature: “Little Rosie. Good old Rosie. She's a farm girl. You should see her at home. She's so down to earth. She's so normal. She grew up on the farm,” says Statham.
The couple appears to be going strong despite the ever present Hollywood gossip mill that had the couple separated, taking a break, or deeply in love, depending on the day. The couple was spotted in early 2015 at the Vanity Fair Oscar party, and the Tom Ford runway show in LA. Rosie has been quoted talking about her desire to have a child with the A-list action star.
