Jourdan Dunn

Jourdan Dunn is an English model, born in London in 1990.

Career

Dunn was scouted at Primark in Hammersmith when she was 15. In 2006 she signed with Storm Management in London and in 2007 she signed with Women Management. In February 2007 she debuted at the fall Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, and Salvatore Ferragamo shows in New York and Milan. In September of the same year she also appeared in her first editorial in Allure, photographed by Michael Thompson. She also walked the spring Alexander McQueen and Hermes shows in Paris.

In 2008 she closed the fall Duro Olowu show in London, became the first black model to walk for Prada in 10 years, appeared in editorials in Dazed & Confused, i-D, French Vogue, Vogue, Italian Vogue, and British Vogue. She also appeared on the covers of i-D, British Vogue and French Elle.

Dunn started her 2009 season by walking the spring Chanel, Christian Dior, Givenchy, and Jean Paul Gaultier couture shows in Paris. In February she opened the fall Jason Wu, Oscar de la Renta, Vivienne Westwood, Issa, and Giambattista Valli shows in New York, London, and Paris. She also closed the Oscar de la Renta, Barbie, Thakoon, Betty Jackson, Twenty8Twelve, and Issa shows in New York and London. She appeared in editorials in Vogue, V, Japanese Vogue, Italian Vogue, Russian Vogue, British Vogue, Teen Vogue, i-D, and W.

She has appeared in ad campaigns for a number of well-known brands, including Benetton, Burberry, Calvin Klein, and Victoria’s Secret, and she has been the face of YSL’s Touche Eclat concealer, CK One’s Red fragrance, Burberry Beauty and DKNY. In 2014 Dunn was names as the newest spokeswoman for Maybelline New York.

Personal Life

Dunn has a son, Riley, who was born when she was just 19. She continued to work well into her pregnancy. Her son suffers from sickle-cell disease, and she has since become a vocal advocate for the disease.
