Josie Maran

Josie Maran is an American model and actress, born 1978.

Modelling Career

Maran signed with Elite models in 1995, at the age of 17. In 1998 she appeared in a Backstreet Boys video (“Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)”), became the face of summer and fall Guess ad campaigns, and in June of that year appeared on her first magazine cover for Glamour (she would subsequently appear on the magazine cover a further 5 times).

Maran became the spokesperson for Maybelline in 1999 (a position she held for nearly a decade) and in 2000 is featured in the Sport’s Illustrated swimsuit edition.

In 2004 Maran appeared in an editorial in GQ, and on the cover of Maxim. In 2008, she modeled for Op’s rebranding and ad campaign.

Acting Career

Maran began her acting career as the title character in the independent film ‘The Mallory Effect’ in 2002. Following this she has appeared in ‘The Aviator’, ‘The Little Black Book’, ‘Van Helsing’, ‘The Confession’, and ‘The Gravedancers’.

Maran has also voiced several characters for EA Games in the video games ‘Need for Speed: Most Wanted’ and ‘Midnight Club: Los Angeles’.

Make-up Brand

Having decided that modeling and acting weren’t making her completely happy, Maran started her own cosmetics company, Josie Maran Cosmetics, in 2007, and used 100% Pure Argan Oil as a signature ingredient in her products. Her goal was to create a cosmetics company free from harmful chemicals, and safe for the planet as well as the people who used it. Josie Maran Cosmetics are now globally available, and feature beauty and skincare products for face, hair and body.
