Jethro Cave Profile

Born in Melbourne in 1990, Jethro Cave is an Australian female fashion model who is well known for her wild hair, piercings and tattoos. Cave measures 6’1’’ in height, has black hair, blue eyes and is the first-born son of superstar musician Nick Cave. [1]

Cave’s career in the fashion industry began in 2008 when he was discovered by an agency scout in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia. After being approached, Cave decided to sign with Independent Models in London.

Cave’s breakthrough engagement came in October of 2008 when he made his debut on the runway in Paris, walking as part of the spring Balenciaga show. The same year, to further his career options and networking opportunities, Cave also signed with Request Model Management in New York City, gaining representation on both sides of the Atlantic.

2009 proved to be a hugely successful year for Cave with regards to the print side of the fashion, becoming a regular presence in many of the industry’s biggest and most acclaimed publications. The highlights of this year include an editorial in i-D magazine as well as a ‘rising star’ feature, an editorial in Russh, and an editorial in Dazed & Confused. There was also another ‘rising star’ feature in Japanese Vogue Hommes shot by Magnus Unnar, an appearance in the spring issue of Love, a Terry Richardson spread in the spring issue of V Man and an editorial feature in Italian Rolling Stone. 2009 also saw Cave become the face of Topman, modelling in the Barneys Co-Op catalogue, and walking in Paris for Costume National and Gareth Pugh.

2010 continued in a similarly successful vein for Cave and began with a feature on L’Uomo Vogue shot by Iain McKell. This was swiftly followed by a series of runway appearances in Paris and Milan for many high profile designers and houses including Versace, Costume National, Paul Smith and John Varvatos. 2010 also saw a change in representation for Cave, with him leaving Re:Quest Models and signing with DNA Models instead. The remainder of his year was taken up by a mixture of runway and print engagements, walking a fall John Rocha show in London and a spring show for Versace in Milan, as well as an editorial in Interview shot by Mikael Jansson, a spring issue of i-D shot by Emma Summerton and two editorials for GQ Style.
