Jasmine Tookes is a professional fashion model. She was born and grew up in Huntington Beach, California. She has publicly stated that she is of African, Brazilian, West Indian and Caucasian ancestry. She has a sister 19 years younger. Her mother is a celebrity fashion stylist. Growing up, Tookes was active in volleyball, softball and gymnastics. She began modeling at aged 15 when she was discovered at one of her mother's hair styling appointments.
Tookes first began shooting commercial ad campaigns in 2010, for Gap and UGG boots. She moved into international modeling when she successfully booked the Spring 2011 DKNY Campaign as well as a spread in Vogue Italia.
Tookes appeared on page six of the New York Post when Opray Winfrey was impressed with her performance in “Lincoln Center Presents: An Evening With Ralph Lauren”. Winfrey is quoted as requesting that Tookes “Rub your face against mine,” thanks in part to Tookes' soft skin.
In 2011, Tookes was named as one of the Top Ten New Models by Models.com. She was selected by Style as its top model in November 2011 based on her work and performances in the Spring Fashion Week shows.
Tookes was one of eleven new models for the 2012 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. It was taped in November 2012, and aired on CBS on December 4, 2012. The same month, Tookes guest starred on an episode of CBS' Hawaii Five-0 titled “Ha'awe Make Loa”. She is now the face of the Victoria's Secret fragrance “Scandal”.
After the Fall/Winter 2013 Fashion Week, French Vogue named Rookes one of the Top 10 New Faces. During that Fashion Week she appeared in shows for Calvin Klein, Prada, Miu Miu, Versace and Tom Ford.
Tookes began dating current boyfriend, model Tobias Sorenson in 2012. Prior to Sorenson she was involved with actor Brandon Mychal Smith. She is very close with her family and credits her mother with much of her success. Her mother did not allow her to wear makeup until she turned 18, at which point she purchased her first container of mascara.
