Alida’s full time career in the fashion industry began when aged 21 years of age she signed with Ford Models in 2010. In October of the same year, the model debuted in Paris at the spring show of Maison Martin Margiela. During this time she also was chosen to walk the runway in Paris for both Miu Miu and Celine. Alida’s reputation as a catwalk model began to grow rapidly after this debut appearance, and the beginning of 2011 saw her selected to walk fall shows in New York and London for Vera Wang, Giles, Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler and Christopher Kane, and fall shows in Milan and Paris for Vivienne Westwood and Moschino.
2011 also saw the high profile beginnings of Alida’s career in the print side of modeling as she appeared in the spring issue of V magazine shot by Terry Tsiolis. The rest of the year brought further success in many of the industry’s leading publications including a rising star feature in Teen Vogue shot by Sebastian Kim, an appearance in the spring issue of AnOther Magazine shot by Paolo Roverso and an editorial in the spring issue of the New York Times T Style magazine shot by Collier Schorr. The end of the year saw Alida yet again making strides on the runway when she opened the spring show for Kenzo in Paris in September.
2012 saw another big year for Alida in print, appearing in Turkish Vogue in April in an editorial shot by Phil Poynter. She was also one of the models selected to be part of a spring ad campaign for Alberta Ferretti, and featured in another Vogue editorial, this time for the British version and shot by David Sims. Alida worked again with David Sims in 2012 when she was the subject of the pre-fall cover of i-D magazine.
