James Rousseau

James Rousseau was born on the 19th December 1980, in Kent, UK and is an English supermodel. The models full name is James Rousseau Osborne and he comes from the family of Jean Jacques Rousseau who is the philosopher whose writings actually influenced the French revolutionary movement.

James Rousseau began modeling in the last year of his school and was still able to get the qualifications he needed to go to a top British university. He decided to put this on hold, whilst he pursued his modeling career.

His modeling career began whilst he was on a holiday job for painting and decorating in London. Someone made a comment that he could be a model, so as a joke he went to the nearest agency, which was Select Models. He was about to leave because he didn’t have any pictures, but one of the agents decided to take some shots there.

Just like that James was beginning to get picked out for campaigns because of his boyish look.

James was then booked three weeks later to work with Steven Meisel in New York for Italian Vogue. Soon after that Miu Miu booked him as their new face, which then turned his career in modeling.

Within two short years he was internationally known as one of the best male models.

James Rousseau has now appeared for Exte, Yves Saint Laurent, Cerruti Jeans, Hugo Boss and many more. His most noted editorial pieces include GQ, Citizen K, L’Uomo, Esquire, Vogue, Wallpaper, Numero Homme and Areana Homme Plus.

He had a small role in The Hole where he didn’t speak and he is also a British student who is one of very few that has qualified to train at the Stella Adler School in New York.
