James Hampson was discovered when he was attending the Reading Festival 1. He was listening to Gossip when two scouts from Independent came running towards him at the same time. They then asked him if he modeled and took his picture.
His favorite music is Fleetwood Mac, The Police, George Benson and Smashing Pumpkins. His hobbies include snowboarding, surfing, hanging out with friends and hitting the beach.
James Hampson says that his favorite piece of clothing is a hand me down from his dad, which is a 60s knitted jumper.
The place that he would love to visit is South Africa.
He says right now that he loves shows and he has become obsessed with Italian food.
James Hampson says that so far his best highlight from his career was being an exclusive at the Prada show for spring/summer 2009 and walking out and saw that Jack Nicholson was sitting in the front row.

James Hampson was born in 1987 in Surrey, England. In 2008 he was first discovered when he was attending the Reading Festival. He then went on to sign with DNA Models in New York. His first debut was in June 2008, at the spring show for Prada in Milan as an exclusive. He also walked for the spring shows for Kenzo and Lanvin in Paris.
In 2009 James Hampson became the face of Topman. He also walked in the fall show for 3.1 Phillip Lim in New York. He was photographed by Mel Blas for the spring issue of Another Man magazine, he walked in the spring shows for Burberry and Salvatore Ferragamo in Milan, and he also appeared in the spring issue of V Man that was photographed by Josh Olins.
In September of 2009 he walked in the spring show for Patrik Erveil, Elie Tahari and Richard Chai in New York. He also appeared in the Japanese Dazed & Confused editorial that was photographed by Bella Howard as well as appearing in a Velvet editorial that was photographed by Damien Blottiere.
