Jacquetta Wheeler was born in England and is the daughter of the businessman and political activist, Stuart Wheeler and the photographer Tessa Cordrington.
At the age of 15 she signed with her mother agency, Take 2. However, Jacquetta’s big break came the following year when Mario Testino spotted her on the street and then photographed her for Vogue Paris.
Jacquetta was on the cover of Vogue Italia in 1999 and was the face for Olay and Gucci. Also in 1999 The Face named Jacquetta Model of the Millennium.
Since then she has signed profitable contracts with Givenchy, Prada, Gap and Yves Saint Laurent and has walked the runways for the likes of Valentino, Christian Dior, alexander McQueen and Carolina Herrera.
When she is not modeling she loves to travel and she has named Morocco as one of her favorite places. She also does fund raising for Darna Center for girls which is a charity based in Tanger that shelters and educates homeless children and women who are at risk.
Jacquetta is signed to MIKAs Stockholm, Uno Models Barcelona, Storm Model Management London and IMG in New York.
In 1998 after she was discovered by Mario Testino, he photographed her for many Vogue and French Vogue editorials.
In 2000 Jacquetta renewed her Gucci contract.
She also opened the fall show for Prada in Milan in 2000; she also appeared in the ad campaign for Calvin Klein and closed the spring show for Alexander McQueen in London.
In 2001, Jacquetta became the face of Givenchy, signed a contract with Yves Saint Laurent, was on the cover of Marie Claire Italian, opened the fall couture show for Valentino in Paris and she opened and closed the spring show for Carolina Herrera in New York.
Jacquetta has been on numerous catwalks for renowned designers and appeared on the cover and in editorials for countless magazines.
She has been photographed for Prada, been on the cover of Italian Vogue, been in a Gap print campaign and countless others.
She has walked for Carolina Herrera, John Galliano, Fendi, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Marni, Roberto Cavalli and more.
In 2002, The Sunday Times called her one of Britain’s highest paid models.
In 2004 she was on the cover of Harper’s and Queen and in 2005 she was the face of Ralph Lauren with Valentina Zelyaeva.
In 2006 she starred in the James Carrington video “Only for Youi”.
More recently in 2010 she featured on the cover of Italian Amica as well in a British Vogue editorial. In 2010 she also closed the spring show for Vivienne Westwood in Paris.
In 2011 she was again on the cover of Italian Amica. She continues to model for many of the big name fashion designers and her face has appeared everywhere.
In 2012 she married Jamie Allsopp, who is a hedge fund manager.
