Isabeli Fontana

Isabeli Fontana is from Brazil and made it to the finals of the Brazilian Elite Model Look contest at just 13 years old. She then moved to Milan in 1997 so that she could pursue her modeling career.

Isabeli made her first appearance on the runway for Givenchy, Versace and Michael Kors. She then made waves because at just 16 she was the youngest model to be in Victoria’s Secret catalogue. The publicity that came her way soon saw her career take off with Versace, Valentino and Ralph Lauren.

She also caught the attention of high profile magazines and was on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar in June 2000 and in 2002 she was in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and on the cover of Vogue Paris for the March edition in 2002.

In 2003, she walked in Paris for Givenchy and Jean Paul Gaultier in the summer and in the fall she graced the catwalk for Victoria’s Secret.

When her son was born she took a break from modeling, but returned as the face of Hermes.

Not only has she been on the runway and in and on magazines she has also landed some fragrance contracts, which include Versace’s Crystal Noir, Revlon’s Flair and Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb.

Isabeli’s personal life has seen her divorce twice and she goes back and forth between her homes in New York and Brazil. She also her two sons, her mother and grandmother that often travel with her.

Work History by Year

In 1999, Isabeli was 16 and was in the Victoria’s Secret lingerie catalogue. Soon after this despite the controversy big names like Ralph Lauren, Versace and Valentino stepped up to sign her.

Since then she has also modeled for Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Elle, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, I-d, Numero, Areana and more.

Fontana has also been the face for various advertising campaigns that include Chanel, Armani Jeans, Dolce & Gabbana, H&M, Hugo Boss and many others.

In September 2004 she was the cover of American Vogue as one of the Models of the Moment. The photography was done by Steven Meisel.

She made her way on to the Forbes list of The Worlds 15 Top Earning Models in 2008 and was placed at number 11 as she had earned $3 million.

In the campaigns for Spring/Summer of 2011, Isabeli Fontana was seen for Escada, Uniqlo, Dolce & Gabbana and Ann Taylor.

She also took part at the Miss Universe 2011 as a judge on the panel.

Fontana has also appeared in the Pirelli Calendar on a few occasions including the 2011 edition that showed the models posed as Roman and Greek gods. The photography was done by Karl Lagerfeld.

As of 2014, Viktor & Rolf has used her for their fragrance, Flowerbomb.
