Heidi Mount Bio

Heidi Mount was born on 6th April 1987 in Salt Lake, Utah. At the moment, she is an American Fashion model. She has walked runways for globally acclaimed fashion houses such as Valentino, Sonia Rykiel, Bottega Veneta, Michael Kors, and Versace. Mount has featured in campaigns for Bally, Chanel, and Prada. She was discovered at the age of 12 years, during a concert by Britney Spears with her sister and mother. Her father’s name is Clark, and her mother’s name is Jennifer. She has four siblings; Sister Bailee, brothers Mark, Jared and Justin. Mount made her debut in the modeling career in 2003 by signing with Ford Models. Her career skyrocketed from there, and she was selected to be the face of campaigns such as Yohji Yamamoto’s summer 2004 collection, which also marked her debut in the international scenes. She posed in campaigns such as Armani Jeans and Frankie Morello. In the year 2007, Mount married Shawn Mount, a hairstylist, and they had a son named, Liam, and took a short break from the modeling universe. She returned to the modeling arena in September 2007 and signed with IMG Models, and returned to the runways for summer of 2008 season walking for companies such as Alexander, Shiatzy Chen, Stella McCartney and McQueen. One year later, she replaced Schiffer Claudia to become the new face of Chanel for their spring 2009 campaign and also opened and closed its fashion shows. She also opened the Spring/Summer 2009 campaigns for Gap, ck, One, and Alexander McQueen. In a one hour interview with New York Times, Mount stated that the biggest inspiration in her modeling career was Brinkley Christie. During the Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief runway show to raise money for mothers in Haiti, Mount modeled a Tracey Reese dress that retailed at USD 150. She has made appearances in numerous campaigns including for companies such as Chanel, Bally, GAP, Armani, Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Barneys, Etro, MaxMara, Hazzys, H&M, and Moschino. Mount has featured in editorials for W Magazine, Marie Claire, V Magazine, Faire, I-D Magazine, Vanity, Numero and Russian, German, Japanese, Vogue and Italian and German Vogue. She appeared in the 2011 Pirelli Calender Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. Heidi’s lanky and long physique has made her a popular favorite among photographers and designers. In addition, her inherent ability to dramatically alter her appearance based on the runway show or campaign has earned her a name as the fashion Chameleon. Additionally, her bounty magazines and runway appearances, her beautiful face has won her high-profile advertising gigs for big brands such as Tiffany and Co and Givenchy. Unlike most other stylist and models, Heidi has no stories of being out strolling for dates since she has been happily married to S. Mount since 2007. Although Heidi does not boast of the same household status that Schiffer does, she is clearly an example of overnight success. She solely opened and closed the Chanel show during the Paris Fashion Week in 2009, which is the global equivalent of being the maid of honor against a lowly bridesmaid. Heidi was handpicked by Lagerfeld to star in their latest Chanel campaign, which Karl Lagerfeld personally shot. It might not make sense to term her a fresh face because she has been in the fashion modeling industry for about five years now, but that is what the industry says she is. Heidi Mount is a real example of overnight success, and you can expect to see her move up from her current NO. 12 on Models.com list of the top 50 models of the year. In late 2003, Heidi signed with the famous Ford Modelling Agency and she was sooner than later rubbing shoulders with some of the agencies high profile clients including Carolyn Murphy, Naima Mora, and Bar Refaeli. Ford agency quickly put Heidi on duty. On September, she made her debut with an appearance at designer Yohji Yamamoto’s show in Paris. After expiry of her contract with Ford, Heidi spent the following years, walking runways across the globe for a series of companies including Louis Vuitton, Dolce Gabbana, and Stella McCartney. On Dec 2005, Heidi made her debut in the arena of the mainstream magazine with an editorial for the Italian Vogue. She followed it up with mainstream appearances in Italian Marie Claire and Harper’s Bazaar. In 2006, and although her career was taking off, Heidi decided to take a long break from the fashion world. In the following year, 2007, she married Shawn Mount and consequently adopted his last name, and gave birth to Liam, their son. Usually, babies, breaks, and last name changes adds up to a career suicide in the fashion and modeling world especially if you get into them when you are not popular, but Heidi brushed them off and went back to work towards the end of September 2007. Despite her earlier successes, Heidi’s biggest break came in late 2008 when it was publicly announced she would take over from Claudia Schiffer as the fresh face of Chanel’s Resort line.
