Hanne Odiele Bio

Hanne Odiele was born in Belgium on 8th October 1988 but presently living in New York City. She is a Belgian model and was discovered by Dorpe Van Tom while at Novarock rock festival. She commenced her career on 2005 when she signed with New York Supreme Management. On September of the same year, she debuted on the runways, walking for Rodarte, Thakoon, Ruffian, and Marc by Marc Jacobs in New York. In the following year, 2006, Odile appeared in Vogue editorials and was crowned the face of Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti. On December, she was run over by a car that broke her legs, and she sustained multiple injuries and had numerous surgeries. After a couple of months of intense physical therapy, Odile was back on the runways in Fall of 2008 shows, walking for Prada, Givenchy, and Channel. Odiele has featured in magazines such as Marie Claire, Vogue Italia, Elle, and Teen Vogue. She has also featured on the covers of French Revue de Modes, and Vogue. Currently, Odiele has books some of the most famous campaigns in the industry such as Vera Wang, Balenciaga, DKNY Jeans and Mulberry. Boosting her more than a decade sovereignty in the catwalk arena with a stint as a fashion model, Gaby took the plunge and dressed herself up for the famous photographer Capozzi fashion story featured in the Dazed 100 issue. When asked about the photo, Odiele said, “The photo feels exquisite. Capozzi wanted to shoot on top of a car, so I spent the entire day striving to convince him travel to Queens and goof around the house.” Today, Gaby boasts of having worked with big names such as Saint Laurent, Dries Van Noten, and Balenciaga. In addition, owing to her androgynous and striking features, she boasts of copious volumes of off-duty photos that ad nauseam and onlookers study for some fashion ideas. Odiele is well known for her cheeky sartorial choices, idiosyncratic flair, and her fearless heart when it comes to dressing up. For instance, when asked about her experience working in a creative backstage role with Brianna, she said, “It was an exciting day. Brianna made awesome jelly sandwiches and peanut butter, and I brought bubbles and worked on the dishes. When Odiele was asked what she preferred, modeling or styling, she said, “In most of my styling contracts, I usually doubled up as a model. I am striving to move from modeling since it is hard to be two things at the same time. However, if you ask me what I prefer, it is hard to tell because I also have a passion for modeling. However, as a stylist, I have more control over the artistic direction and more creative control.” She added that she decided to settle for styling since it allows her to network with multiple geniuses in the business arena. Odiele says that as she grew up in Kooigem, a village in Belgium countryside, she never thought of styling or modeling. In fact, she says she never knew of any brand until she was scouted at the age of 17 and moved to NY. However, she says she has always been fascinated by how different people can express themselves through style and fascinated by subcultures. When I eventually ventured into the fashion and modeling world as a late teen, I was thrilled.
