Frida Gustavsson Bio

Frida Gustavsson was born on 6th June 1993, and she is currently a Swedish model. As a child, she dreamt of becoming a pilot but today she is flying in the world of catwalks. She tells that she is currently interested in pursuing a career as a fashion stylist, and she has a passion for product design and patterns. Gustavsson attended school at Sundbyberg, Sweden, and at St Martin’s Gymnasium and graduated in June 2011. Frida commenced her modeling career in 2008 and moved to Japan to pursue more in this art. Her significant rise to the spotlight was in 2008 when she was hired to open the Valentino Haute Counter Fall 2013 show that took place in Paris, France. Since that time, Gustavsson has been recruited to walk shows for Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Shiatzy Chen, Lanvin, Carolina Herrera, Jil Sander, Fendi,Christian Dior, Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Celine,Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Blumarine, Yves Saint Laurent, Emilio Pucci, , Jean Paul Gaultier, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, and Versace. Currently, Gustavsson is the face of Maybelline, and as part of her contractual obligation, she will be working in commercials and ads for them. She was voted as the 4th most requested model during the 2010 Spring Season only behind Constance Jablonski, Wen Liu, and Kasia Struss. Gustavsson has featured in the following magazines Crash, Elle, Italian, French, American, German, British and Japanese Vogue, W, Numéro, L'Officiel, xCrash, and others. She is also featured in a most advertisement for Nina Ricci. When she is working in New York, Gustavsson resides in Maritime Hotel. She once said, “I always feel at home in this place, as she pointed to a couch made by Josef Frank, a Swedish Designer, with a print that she says brings to mind her mother’s living room.” Frida has two moon shaped scars on her right knee. She sustained these during a relay race competition. From the time of her birth, Frida has always been fast and sporty. In fact, she was identified by a sports coach at the age of seven and out of sheer curiosity, she registered in a competition and scooped all the awards. Frida says, “Until that day, I had never thought of myself as excellent in anything. That is a common problem when you grow up with only brothers.” After that, Rhoda participated in the numerous competition and accumulated as many as 200 medals. She also suffered two fractures of the arms and 1 of the hand. “During my early years I used to be clumsy. In fact, when I ceased to start modeling, my parents were happy.” At the beginning of her career, Frida did her very first photos with a Swedish Magazine called, ‘just like her.’ In particular, she did Christmas shot, with Glitter and Gold everywhere. “I fell deeply in Love with the job,” Frida said during an interview with Vogue in 2013. Frida’s career commenced with the Valentino show. During the first day of the casting, she says she was with her idols. They kept her in the showroom during the 5 days without letting her know whether she had been chosen or not and in the day before the show, her agent called her and told her she had been selected for the opening and the closing. Frida says it was big since before then; she had not participated in a fashion walk, and she was a bit terrified but insists that the moment she hit the catwalk, she felt Euphoric. Come next season, she had been booked for 72 shows. Frida always walks with her notebook and Polaroid camera that she purchased in Tokyo. She fills the notebook with drawings, ideas, and recipes. And uses the camera to capture landscape photos that she archives in shoe boxes. She says that one day she plans to make a book from them.
