Fei Fei Sun
Fei Fei Sun is a Chinese fashion model who was born on March 20 in 1989 in Weifang, a city located by the seaside in the northern part of China. As a young teenager, she was scouted and even trained briefly to become a model - but she did not start her professional modeling career until after she graduated from high school. Sun is well known for her well-defined cheekbones, her beautifully shaped eyebrows and her staggering walk that enthralls every fashion runway she walks on.
Educated at Suzhou University, she majored in fashion design. Sun started her full-fledged career in modeling in 2008 when she participated in Elite Model Look and represented China. The Elite Model Look is one of the most influential modeling contests held across the world. She also featured on the Chinese Marie Claire cover along with several other Chinese models. She also featured on the Chinese Elle cover along with Shu Pei.
Sun made her international modeling debut on the runway during London Fashion Week held in February 2010. She walked the ramp for Christopher Kane. In December 2009, she was picked to walk in Chanel’s fashion show in Paris and Shanghai. Since then, she has graced several runways across the globe, walking the ramp for several renowned brands like Hermes, Jil Sander, Miu Miu, Valentino, Prada, Christian Dior, Dries Van Noten and several others. She closed the spring collection for the Philip Lim show in New York in 2010. She has also walked several times for Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Valentino, Givenchy and Vera Wang.
She appeared in the Vogue Italy editorial titled ‘The Power of Glamour’ photographed by Steven Meisel. She was the first model of East Asian descent to appear solo on a Vogue Italy cover in January 2013. In 2014, she appeared with 8 models on the cover of Vogue America, becoming the first ever East Asian model to appear on the American Vogue cover. She has also been on the cover of Vogue China, Vogue Japan and other magazines. In March 2010, she appeared in two Chinese Elle editorials. She has also appeared in the winter issue of i-D magazine having been photographed by the ever-famous Paola Kudacki. In October 2011, Sun appeared in the French Vogue editorial piece and was clicked by famous photographer Hans Feurer.
In September 2010, she signed on with Women Management after leaving Muse Management. In 2011, Sun signed a contract to become the face of Chanel cosmetics. In 2012, she signed a contract to become the face of Calvin Klein CK One cosmetics. That same year, Sun modeled for the summer ad campaign for Diesel. She also modeled for the Valentino spring ad campaign in the same year.
Her first major campaign was for Dsquared2. Since then, she has also established herself as the face of brand campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Diesel, Barney’s New York, H&M, Calvin Klein, Dior and Prada. She continues to walk some of the most highly sought-after ramps across the global modeling industry.
