+ | Fatima Siad is a Boston raised fashion model of Somali-Ethiopian decent. She also appeared on season 10 of “Americas Next Top Model”. Before becoming a bostonian she lived in Somalia. Her parents divorced when she was very young leaving her with just her mother and two sisters. When she was a young girl in Somalia she was also subject to gentile mutilation at a very young age. When she was 13 years old her two sisters were killed by the Somalian army during the civil war in the country. After they were killed her mother and her fled to the Boston where they lived in what has been described as a shack. In high school she excelled, joining the Boston University Upward Bound Trio Program. Starting in 2004 she attended Bryn Mawr College later transferring to NYU to study pre-med and political science before finally going back to Bryn Mawr University to finish her education. Said has worked with many big names in fashion in print, runway and television work. She is represented by IMG in New York City, IMG in Paris, IMG in London, IMG in Milan, Ace Models in Athens, Greece and by Munich Models in Munich. In 2008 she had a spread in Essence Magazine as well as one in Look Magazine UK and CosmoGirl at the end of 2008 she also had two speeds done in Ebony Magazine. In 2009 she again appeared in CosmoGirl also appearing in Fashion Magazine and Elle magazine the same year. In May 2009 She appeared on the cover of front page style. She has also appeared in the french Magazines “The Amuser” and “Profil Femme”. She appeared in Marie Claire in 2010. Fatima has held contracts with several companies such as Arbonne, a swiss cosmetics company. In 2010 She also had a contract with BCBG Max Azria. In 2011 she was in ad campaigns for Aveda and Makeup Forever. She was picked up again by BCBG Max Azria in 2012 for there Herve Ledger campaign as well as landing editorials in Harpers Bazaar and Flaunt magazine. | ||
