During her childhood, she was raised not only in Italy, but also Luxor, Paris, and Cairo. She currently lives in New York, where she moved in 2006 and is a mother to a child named Jack, who was born in May 2013.
Her father was the architect to shoe designer Christian Louboutin, and the pair are now good friends and have worked together on many projects. At the young age of 15 she began modelling, and it was three years after that she began her film career.
She is signed up with many agencies such as Storm Models London, Modelwerk, Stage Model Agency, IMG Models and ZZO Image to name a few. Throughout her life, she has worked with many well know photographers and has appeared in a lot of magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour and ELLE. She has also had a starring role in a range of advertising campaigns for Chanel Eyewear, Roberto Cavalli fragrance, Diane von Furstenberg and Diesel. In 2010, Giorgio Armani chose her to star in his spring/summer collection.
The first film that she featured in was Eastern Drift, which was released On the 10th of December, in which she played the lead role of 'Gabriella'. She has also starred in the short film La Baie du Renard, as well as Remember Now, and has appeared in Love Lasts Three Years and The Legend of Kaspar Hauser.
As well as acting in films, the model has also played a role in some directorial work, co-directing the film Kullu Taman, which is a documentary about Egyptians, as she is of Egyptian descent.
In 2013, she set up the Elisa Sednaoui Foundation. The charity aims to elevate creative learning for children in after school classes and other events. She believes that all children should be able to access 'cultural exchange' and 'creative expression'. The project focuses mainly on Egypt, but also all around the world. She aims to widen perspectives, accepting differences, encouraging responsibility and respect equality. One of the biggest upcoming projects is in Luxor, where the focus is on promoting after-school activities for young people and the community. The future aim is to create a community centre where a host of activities can take place such as social gatherings.
Her interest in such projects comes from her large cultural background, and travelling when she was younger. Her mother is fully Italian and her father a mixture of French and Egyptian. She now feels as though she wants to give everyone the opportunity to experience culture and respect for people from all over the world.
As well as her foundation, Elisa is currently working on a range of projects. One such project is creating a Mother and Child clothes collection, which features matching pieces for mothers, boys, girls and babies.
The model has brown hair and green eyes. Her height is 5'9“ with a waist size of 23.5, dress size 4 and a size 8 shoe. She is fluent in Italian, Spanish, English and French.
