Lithuanian model Edita Vilkeviciute was born January 1st 1989 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Her modeling career began at the age of sixteen, when she was discovered on the streets in 2006 by a scout for Women Management in Milan. Though this was the agency where she got her start, Edita did not remain exclusive to them for very long. Not only did she sign with Women Management ,she also signed with VIVA in Paris. September of that same year she walked her first runway show for Just Cavalli in Milan and again in February of 2007. After that Edita was on her way to becoming a supermodel.
In 2008 Edita did the spring/summer campaign for Dolce & Gabbana and that same year she replaced Angela Lindvall as the muse of Versace perfumes. She was then selected by Karl Largerfeld to play Coco Chanel, in one of his silent films, allowing her to take credits as both a model and an aspiring actress. She appeared once in the Italian Vogue and on the cover of the French Vogue but two times for the German Vogue. She is also featured in the French Elle magazine and an editorial Marie Claire. At the end of 2008 she walked for Victoria Secrets Pink fashion show and would again in 2009 and 2010. One of her most active years was 2009 when she opened for Valentino in Paris and walking in thrirty-five shows including Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent , Givenchy and Chloe, making her by far one of the most prominent models at the event.
In 2011, Edita was asked if she wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel but turned down the opportunity for a bigger one that let her walk on the runway for Versace’s collaboration with H&M. She has also been the face of Calvin Klein’s Aqua fragrance since 2012—a campaign that has been especially lucrative for Edita Vilkeviciute. Recently, she was photographed in 2014 for Katja Rahlwes, dressed all in pink for the Rose d'hiver jewelry spread. All of these appearances has led Edita’s beauty to be recognized around the world. She is currently ranked in the fifty top models and world’s sexiest people lists, giving every reason to believe that this pretty face will still have a presence in the modeling industry for several years to come.
