International model Doutzen Kroes was born on January 23 1985 in Eastermar Netherlands, where she grew up with her family. She was married in 2010 to the well-known DJ Sunnery James and together they have two children. Their son Phyllon Joy Gorre was born in 2011 and a daughter Myllena Mae Gorre born in 2014. The family current resides in New York City.
Doutzen Kroes’ modeling career began right after she graduated high school, when a Dutch modeling agency named Paparazzi picked her up. In 2003 her international modeling career started when she was photographed for the cover of French Elle magazine. Within a span of a couple years she had landed on the covers of Italian Vogue and twice for Numero. Despite this success, it wasn;t until later in her career that Doutzen really began to gain the attention of the industry. Her career actually took off when the agency sent her to New York for the first time for a tryout with Victoria Secret. From that point forward. Doutzen has become one of the most recognized and well-paid models in the industry.
Doutzen moved to New York when she was eighteen years old and didn’t even know of the brand Victoria Secret. Ironically, it was this brand that would one day make her famous. She began working for Victoria Secret in 2004 and her first time on the runway for them was in 2005. That same year she was voted “Model of The Year” by Vogue.com readers and in 2007 she was on the cover of American Vogue for “Worlds Next Top Model’s”. In 2008 Doutzen Kroes was named a Victoria Secret Angel and walked on the runway in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, and in London 2014, making her one of the most consistent models to appear in the Victoria Secret fashion show. Despite how much involvement she has had with being an Angel, Doutzen is not exclusive with Victoria Secret. Over the span of her career, she has modeled on the runway for many other designers as well.
Doutzen has also done a variety of different campaigns with Prada, Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Tommy Hilfiger, Versace, Valentine, and Calvin Klein for both their 'White' label and their fragrance 'Eternity. In 2009 she was awarded the Life Time Achievement for models in Amsterdam—one of the most prestigious awards she could have hoped to acquire. Currently, Doutzen is in contract with L’Oréal and is leaving the Angels this year. Despite the fact that she will no longer be with the group that made her famous, Doutzen still looks to be very well compensated for her work in the future. In fact, Forbes recently named her 2nd most paid model in the world behind Gisele Bündchen, earning approximately $8 million a year. Even though she will no longer be an Angel, contracts such as the one she has with L’Oréal promise to keep her annual salary impressively high.
