Daniela was born in Czechoslovakia on 14th October 1970 in Teplice during the political unrest. Discovered in 1989 in Prague by Madison Agency scout Dominique Caffin, she has had an illustrious modelling career appearing for Sports Illustrated and on television. Married twice, first to Tommaso Buti and then to Pavol Habera and she has 2 children. She has blonde hair and blue eyes and is called The Chameleon as she changes her looks so often. Fluent in several languages including Russian, French and Italian she moved to the USA without being able to speak English.
Before taking up modelling, she went to University to study education with the thought of being a language teacher or interpreter. Appearing in many Sports Illustrated Swimsuits editions has been coupled with working for L’Oreal. After modelling Daniela wants to pursue a career as a translator.
Starting on television in 1992 on The Jay Leno Show she progressed to the TV movie Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 1999 and 2006, Stars and Bras TV show in 2000, The Victoria’s Secret fashion Show in 2001.
Daniela Pestova has appeared on many magazine covers including GQ, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Bikini, Fitness, Shape and Sports Illustrated and has done work with L’Oreal and Avon as well as Victoria’s Secret.
1990 saw Daniela first appear in a Guess? Ad campaign with Claudia Schiffer. She landed her first major magazine cover on Cosmopolitan in 1991 before moving to New York and taking up modelling full-time in 1992 appearing on the cover of Cosmopolitan again and Mademoiselle.
More magazine covers continue in 1993 including 4 issues of Glamour magazine. Signing with L’Oreal in 1994 she went on to appear on 3 more covers for Glamour magazine and the first edition of Czech Elle.
1995 marks Daniela’s first issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, a tradition that continued for many years including 2000 and 2006 issues. A signing with Victoria’s secret followed in 1996 with 3 magazine covers for issues of British Cosmopolitan.
1998 is another Victoria’s Secret campaign and again in 2001.
She teams with Naomi Campbell for an H&M ad campaign in 2003.
2006 Daniela is in an editorial in Italian Elle and appears on the Today Show with other Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models including Rachel hunter and Elle Macpherson.
More magazine covers follow in 2007, 2008 and 2009 including Maxim, Rolex, Home, Style, Woman and Life, Marie Claire, Ocean and GQ.
From 2009 Daniela has appeared in various Avon ad campaigns and magazine covers for the makeup company, Garnier Nutrisse for hair colour, Avon Anew cosmetics range and more magazine covers including Elle, Joy and Emma magazines.
More Magazine covers continue with the Legends Swimsuit edition for Sports Illustrated in 2014. Also in 2014 she appears in Peter Lindbergh’s book of photographs and Nars Cosmetics campaigns.
In 2015, there is more work for Avon and their Anew range of skin care, Nutri Advance, Luxe makeup and Celluvive. Magazine covers still abound with Daniela appearing on the covers of Emma and InStyle.
