Daniel Liu was born in Los Angeles California on the 12th January 1983 to Taiwanese parents and currently lives in New York City. He has become famous for his facial features of cheekbones and lips and for his body. He got into modelling when his sister sent some photos from a modelling competition he won to the Ford agency and they signed him straight away. Modelling was not Daniel's first job as he was 26 years old when signed with Ford.
When he is not modelling he enjoys spending time reading and watching movies, staying fit and healthy, playing the guitar and spending time with family and close friends. After his modelling career, Daniel wants to work helping people such as the homeless and sending medical aid overseas. He is also interested the environment and could see himself working to positively change things.
He likes a diverse range of music depending on what mood he is in and often listens to the Arctic Monkeys, Kean, The Kooks, The Shins and Indie rock. Favourite movies include Top Gun and Pulp Fiction.
Daniel's first hit at fame came when Mario Testino booked him for the 2009 fall ad campaign for Uniqlo shortly after he signed with the Ford Agency. The same year he wore the spring fashion for Baby Phat in New York. Models.com does a feature on him as the next male model to watch and he appears in editorials for Chinese GQ and Surface.
In early 2010, he wears fashion by Tommy Hilfiger, John Bartlett and J Crew and then models Liberty of London for Target printed advertisements. The same year he appears in editorials for Taiwanese GQ, Japanese Vogue and V magazine. Daniel also appears in Surface magazine, Da Man magazine, Italian Vanity Fair and Out magazine.
During 2012, he models for Gap clothing and does an editorial for Interview magazine.
In 2013 and 2014 he models for Nautica and the ad campaign for Strellson. The Rise of the Asian Supermodel is an editorial featuring Daniel Liu for Models.com where he talks about being Asian and if at all it has hindered his career.
