Cristina Jurach

Biography

Cristina was born in 1988 in Brazil in the city of Curitiba in the south of the country and had dreamt of being an actress or singer when she was younger. When modelling came along it changed her life completely. She left school without finishing, pursuing modelling at the age of 16 when she signed with an agency in Sao Paulo. In 2008 Cristina signed with Supreme Management. [1] Not regretting leaving school, Cristina considers God led her to modelling and everywhere she goes she finds someone who needs to hear of her faith. [2] With blond hair and brown eyes and a slender 177cm tall, she has been signed with Mega Models, Queta Rojas Modelos, Vivienne Model Management and the Mademoiselle Agency during her career. [3]

Living in New York for three years from 19 years of age with 9 other Brazilian models was a great experience and Cristina likened it to living in a movie. The only impressions she had of the city been from movies. It was here she learned more of the English language just by listening to people speaking. Visiting Central Park and going to the movies were her favourite activities apart from modelling. The best part of her job is getting to see the world through her many modelling assignments. [2]

Career

In March 2007 Cristina makes her debut in Paris at the Vionnet, Maison Martin Margiela and Sophia Kokosalaki fashion shows.

In late 2007 she appeared in a photo editorial in Dazed and Confused, was photographed for Vogue Girl in Korea, lost a shoe on the catwalk at the Erin Fetherston show in New York as well as opening and closing Richard Chai’s show. An appearance on the Oprah show while modelling Simply Vera by Vera Wang was followed by Paris’s spring Louis Vuitton fashion show. [1]

More editorials followed with one in 10 magazines in early 2008 and Brazilian Vogue in October of the same year. She was featured in two editorials for L’Officiel Brazil in April 2008 and July 2009. [3]

Cristina has appeared on 2 magazine covers; Chile Ya in 2009 and Argentina Elle in 2011. [3]
