She dropped the medical school and made her debut at the spring Fendi, Jil Sander and Prada shows in Milan, in September 1998. Since then, she had a very busy professional life for more than a decade.
After Colette Pechekhonova began her modeling career in Milan, she went to Paris, where she walked for Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Yohji Yamamoto shows. In 1999, she switches to New York Models, the fact which quickly brings her an exclusive contract with Calvin Klein. This turn of events doesn’t affect her career too much. She continues to open the spring for Chado Ralph Rucci, Givenchy, and Louis Vuitton shows. Four years later, she changes agencies again. This time, she collaborates with One Model Management from New York. 2008 and 2009 are busy years for her. She returns to Paris to star in presentations for Christian Dior and Givenchy couture.
