Caroline Trentini

Caroline Trentini is a Brazilian born from the region of Panambi, Rio Grande do Sul. She is the youngest of three girls and was born on July 6, 1987. Within a year, her mother would find herself a widow and single mother, but she managed to raise all the kids on her own.

While taking a walk with her family, the fashion scout, that once discovered Gisele, realized she could be a successful model. That was in the year 2000, and by 2002 it was happening.

Young and Afraid

She moved to New York in 2002, in hopes of a modeling career. She didn’t speak English, and she was only 14 and afraid, but not as afraid as when she moved from her little village to Brazil. In 2003, she was modeling for Marc by Marc Jacobs, which opened the door for her profession. The next year brought huge opportunities, runway shows in Paris for Emanuel Ungaro, Christian Lacroix, and Anne Hash. Opening and closing in all three shows, which is an enviable position for models. In 2005, she opened the Marc Jacobs New York runway and did her first of many Victoria’s Secret Fashion shows.

Editorials started pouring in 2004, and by 2006 she’d been published in Vogue British and Italian, Max Azaria, and Numero’. Ad campaigns were not far behind. Gucci grabbed her up for their eighty-fifth anniversary as their representative.

From 2007 through 2009, she had completed over 29 editorials in very respectable magazines from all over the world. She had participated in over eighteen runway shows. Additionally her face was in, minimally, five ad campaigns. At 2009, Dolce and Gabanna renewed their contract with her.

It’s 2012 and Caroline still ranks at the top of her game on the runway and in magazine editorials. This is also the year she signed with a new agency, Women’s Management Worldwide. She has been editorialized in nearly every country that carries Vogue plus Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and W.Alexander McQueen styled one Vogue editorial. The ad campaigns continue and she is a regular on Victoria Secrets fashion show.

Met Gala

This red carpet annual event was created to inspire designers and raise funds for the Metropolitan Art Museums Costume Institute. It is not by invitation only, but it has maintained its exclusivity by consistently raising the ticket price. In 2014, the cost jumped from fifteen thousand to twenty-five thousand, thus limiting the guest lists. Out of the ten presented since Caroline Trentini began her career, she has modeled in more than half of them.

In 2012, Caroline attended the Met Gala in a denim gown designed by one of her favorite designers, Olivier Theyskens. In fact, she had always joked with him, since she was 14 or 15, that he would someday design her wedding dress. Little did they know that would come to pass!

Fabio Bartelt was her first boyfriend and a photographer from Brazil. They split for a few years and reunited in 2010. Their engagement was announced in 2011, and the wedding took place in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, Brazil March 3rd, 2012. Caroline beamed as she walked down the aisle in her beautiful Olivier Theyskens’ gown. Bento Jacob TrentiniBartelt, their son, was born August 9, 2013.

Five months later she was doing the Alexander- Wang fall collection and a number of editorials. By 2015, she was back in full swing, runway shows like Michael KorsMercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York and DSquared2 in Milan. While Caroline participated in many editorials, two, in particular, seem to stand out, Steven Klein photographed both. The one for Love Magazine, where she wore prosthetic breasts and buttocks for an unusual effect, was weird and beautiful at the same time. The other shoot was done topless in a meat freezer, and Caroline claimed it changed her into a vegetarian.

Caroline TrentiniBartelt now lives in Brazil with her husband and baby named Bento (which she said means blessed) and is returning to the job she loves. Motherhood permitting, she will continue to wow the crowds at the most prestigious fashion shows.
