Boyd Holbrook

The handsome and stylish American fashion model, artist, and director, Boyd Holbrook, was born on September 1st, 1981, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He is popular for his blonde hair, rugged beard, and thin lips and for his role in the suspense drama thriller, “Gone Girl”. He was discovered in a movie theatre, where he worked part-time as a carpenter. A female modeling agent watching a play in the theatre noticed Boyd and asked him if he wanted to move to New York to become a model. Soon enough, he signed with Elite models and did numerous fashion shows throughout Asia and Europe. Therefore, this marked the beginning of Boyd Holbrook’s successful modeling career. He made his debut in 2002 at the Fall Cloak Show in New York. That same year, he was photographed by Steve Klein for his first campaign (The Bill Blass) and appeared in the spring issue of Another Magazine, fall issue of Self Service (Photographed by David Armstrong), a nude spread for Italian Vogue (Photographed by Steven Meisel), and also walked the ramp at both the Dior Homme and Calvin Klein shows in Milan and Paris. Therefore, he soon gained a lot of popularity in the fashion industry. In 2003, his reputation continued to grow and was given the title “Rising Star”. He also appeared in the spring issue of L’Uomo Vogue, V Editorial (Photographed by Max Vadukul), Fall issue of Numero (Photographed by Greg Kadel), walked the spring Helmut Lang, Gucci, Fendi, Calvin Klein, and Burberry shows in Milan and the fall Dior show in Paris (as an exclusive). The next year, Boyd Holbrook’s career took off, as he became the face of Dior Homme, walked the Missoni, Roberto Cavalli, Moschino, and Calvin Klein shows in Milan, appeared in the Hugo Boss and Versus advertising campaigns, featured in the editorials for W Magazine, Details and Japanese GQ, and walked the spring Marc Jacobs, D&G, and Versus shows in Milan and New York. In 2005, Boyd Holbrook’s renewed his contract with Hugo Boss. He was also photographed by Partick Demarchelier for BCBG Max Azria, alongside Caroline Trentini and Jessica Stam. Additionally, he appeared in L’Uomo Vogue Editorial (Photographed by Richard Bainbridge, modeled for the Mavi Jeans catalog and also featured in the fall issue of Self Service and Dansk. From modeling throughout Asia and Europe, Boyd Holbrook raised enough money to begin studying film at NYU. He worked hard and received a SCPS Certificate in 16mm Film (Editing writing, photography, and lighting). Additionally, it was during this time that he also joined Columbia University, where he attended classes for film history and screenwriting. He also studied acting at the William Esper Studio and completed a two-year Voice and Speed Program. At the same time, he continued modeling and in 2006, Boyd became the face of Moschino and walked the fall Dolce & Gabana, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, and Gucci shows in Paris and Milan. The same year, he also appeared in DKNY’s advertising campaign (Photographed by Peter Lindbergh), featured in the Italian Flair Editorial (Photographed by Tesh), and modeled for Gap and Barney catalogs. Not to mention, he also walked the spring Y-3, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, and Banana Republic fashion shows in New York and Paris. In 2007, he appeared in the “Allison” music video for Permanent Me, alongside the beautiful Australian model, Tiah Eckhardt. The same year, he also sent a screenplay to Gus Van Sant, who was really impressed with Boyd’s work and gave him the role of “Denton Smith” in the famous American biographical movie “Milk” that also featured the famous actor, Sean Penn. However, he didn’t stop modeling and continued walking the runways and appearing in numerous editorials, magazine covers, and advertising campaigns. In fact, the same year he also became the face of Jean Paul Gaultier, alongside Gemma Ward. In 2008, Boyd Holbrook appeared in the fall issue of V Man (Photographed by Hedi Slimane), featured in the I-D Editorial, and modeled for the H&M Holiday ad Campaign. The next year, he appeared in the Details Editorial (Photographed by David Armstrong) and modeled for the Pepe Jeans and We Are Replay ad campaigns. In 2010, he appeared in the TV Movie “Tough Trade” as Jackson Tucker and a year later in “Higher Ground” as Ethan Miller. In 2013, he appeared in the TV Movie “Behind the Candelabra” as Cary James, as Kyle in the movie “The Host”, and as the tattooed guy in “Out of the Furnace”. In 2014, he worked alongside Liam Neeson in “A Walk Among the Tombstones” as Peter Kristo, in “Gone Girl” as Jeff, in the TV Series “Narcos” as Steve Murphy and once again with Liam Neeson in the movie “Run All Night” as Danny Maguire. His latest work was in the movie “Jane Got a Gun”.
