+The six-foot tall, petite ebony princess and American supermodel, Beverly Peele, was born in 1975, in Los Angeles, California. She is popular for her incredibly slim figure, beautiful red lips, and jet-black hair and rose to fame during the late 80s and flourished under the spotlight throughout the 90s. Her modeling career began at the age of 12, when she started doing photo shoots for small brands.
+Within two years in the field, she landed her first major deal, which was a cover for Mademoiselle (one of the most popular women’s magazines at the time). Therefore, she immediately gained a lot of popularity and the same year appeared on her second cover of Mademoiselle and then on the cover of Seventeen. She also featured in the Versace ad campaign (Photographed by Bruce Weber).
+In 1991, her career took off, as she appeared in Vogue Editorial with LL Cool J and Aretha Franklin and walked the spring Comme des Garcons and Chanel shows in Paris. By the end of 1991, she also appeared on the cover of Elle and was featured in several other Vogue editorials. Next year, she walked the Versace show in Milan and appeared on the cover of British Vogue, alongside two other top models.
+In 1993, she appeared on the covers of German Vogue and featured in Vogue with Naomi Campbell. A year later, she starred in Heavy D’s “Nuttin’ But Love” music video and this kind of marked the beginning of her acting career in the future years. Additionally, she also appeared on the cover of French Elle and in 1995 gave birth to her daughter, Cairo.
+That same year, she retired from modeling to take care of her daughter, but two years later returned with a big bang by appearing on the TV program “Sister, Sister”. In 1999, she appeared in the movie “Ladies & Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael” and co-starred on “Girlfriends” as Nicole, a friend of Tracee Ellis Ross. By the end of the 90s, Peele had appeared on over 250 fashion magazine covers (from the beginning of her career).
+It was during this time that she left her modeling career once again and was arrested on claims of charging a lost credit card for the purchase of a dryer, washer, refrigerator, and other home products. In 2006, Peele pleaded no contest to the charges and as a result was placed on three years’ probation with a fine of $4,000 and 300 hours of community service.
+The same year, she appeared on the “Tyra Banks Show” and spoke about the dangers of modeling and the issues in the fashion industry. Her career definitely went on a downfall and she disappeared from the modeling industry completely. In 2010, she was reported to have been in a car accident with her daughter, both suffering serious injuries. They were taken to the UCLA Medical Center with numerous internal injuries and multiple broken bones.
+Her last appearance was made in the movie “Chasing Beauty” which provides a rare glimpse into the fashion industry and covers many uncensored stories of hit models who had to sacrifice and endure all sorts of challenges and issues in order to become a supermodel.
