+Born in Copey, Dominican Republic on May 7th 1989, Arlenis Sosa is a Dominican model who has had success both in print and on the runway. Sosa measures 5’11’’ in height, has black hair, blue brown eyes and measures 32 bust, 24.5 waist and 35 hips with a size 8 shoe and size 2 dress.

+Growing up in the Monte Cristi Province of the Dominican Republic, Sosa received both her primary and secondary education at the Simon Bolivar Evangelical College in the city of Dajabon. At the age of sixteen, Sosa had intended to continue with further education in communication studies in Santo Domingo, but these plans were changed when one afternoon, walking in Copey with her family, she was spotted by designer Luis Menieur and advised that a successful career in the modeling industry in New York might be an option.
 +
+Initially working for over two years in her home country, Sosa spent a lot of time having to face the color prejudice that was shown towards her by some of the Dominican Republic’s most high profile designers [1]. Though she could not speak a word of English, Sosa made the decision in 2008 to take the jump to further her career and moved to New York, where she famously walked in to the Marilyn Models head offices and was promptly signed on the spot.
 +
+Sosa’s introduction to the fashion elite of New York City was incredibly fast, with Anna Wintour herself sending her to the Met Ball after only a week after her arrival from the Dominican Republic. The model’s career continued in this quick fashion as within two weeks of signing with Marilyn Models Sosa had booked two high profile editorial jobs for Vogue and Vogue Italia. Her relationship with Vogue has continued to be a strong one, and she has since appeared in the French, Spanish, German and Teen editions of the magazine. Among Sosa’s other high profile print work have been editorials for Allur, j-D, Elle, Interview and Spanish and American Harper’s Bazaar. [2]
 +
+Sosa’s runway debut came in Banana Republic’s Fall/Winter Show in 2008, and she later opened for Oscar de la Renta and also walked for the Dior Resort show. Throughout her career she has walked for the majority of the fashion industry’s most prestigious fashion houses and designers including Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, John Galliano, Michael Kors, Jason Wu, Derek Lam, Anna Sui, Carlos Miele and Jean Paul Gaultier. Sosa has also been a popular choice on the advertising campaign circuit, working with David Yurman, Topshop and Polo Ralph, as well as a becoming the face of Lancome in 2008. [3]
