+Born in Tokyo, Japan on April 14th 1986, Anne Watanabe is a Japanese fashion model, singer and actress. Watanabe measures 5’9’’ in height, has brown hair, brown eyes and measures 33 bust, 24 waist, 34 hips with a size 8 shoe and size 2 dress [1]. Watanabe is the daughter of Japanese and Hollywood cinema Ken Watanabe, and for her modeling career shortens her name simple to the mononym of Anne.

+Watanabe’s choice of name shortening to just her forename came as a result of trying to distance herself from the fame and notoriety of her actor father. In 2004 at the very beginning of her career, Watanabe had considered entering the Miss Japan contest but decided to drop out of the race after the wider public discovered the identity of her famous father. Her established career began a year later in 2005 when she appeared in print ads in Japan for a Christian Dior skincare line campaign. In December of the same year, Watanabe made her runway debut for the Spring Marc by Marc Jacobs show in New York. Further success followed in 2006, a year in which Watanabe appeared in editorials for Citizen K and Italian Vogue, signed a fragrance contract with Anne Sui’s Wish, and was awarded the title of Japan’s model of the year. [2]

+Watanabe’s fashion career has consistently been a strong presence both in the Eastern and Western industries. Desirable on both side of the world, Anne first walked Singapore Fashion in April 2007 and the very next month was invited to attend the opening party for Bottega Veneta’s flagship Tokyo store. She also appeared on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore and was the subject of an editorial piece by Sean Ellis in Japanese Numero. With regards to the Western industry, Watanabe switched from Vision to DNA management shortly before the New York fall season of 2007, and afterwards proceeded to walk for Carolina Herrera, Anna Sui, Derercuny and Peter Som in New York and Milan. Her demand on the runway continued in to 2008 when she walked fall shows in New York for Karen Walker, Vivienne Tam, United Bamboo and Anna Sui, followed by spring shows for United Bamboo, Y-3 and Vivienne Tam.
 +
+Outside of modeling, Watanabe has carved out a burgeoning career in television, film and music. As a dramatic actress, Anne has appeared in thirteen television programs and has eight film credits under her belt [3]. She has also had stints in radio and has even released two mini-albums, Lights in 2010 and Ai O Anata Ni in 2012. Watanabe has also been seen to use her celebrity status for good, as in 2006 she was chosen to be the Philippines Ambassador of Goodwill to Japan.
