Anne-Catherine Lacroix

Born in Brussels, Belgium on March 3rd 1978, Anne-Catherine Lacroix is a fashion model who has been working prominently both on the runway and in print since her modeling debut in 1999. Lacroix stands 5’10’’ in height, has brown hair, blue eyes and measures 32 bust, 24.5 waist and 35 hips with a size 9 shoe and size 2 dress. [1]

Lacroix’s debut came in September 1999 when she walked for MaxMara, Anna Molinari and Jill Sander at their spring show in Milan. Her popularity very quickly increased and by the end of October the same year Lacroix had walked in a number of Paris spring shows for high profile houses including Chanel, Balenciaga, Yohji Yamamoto and Dries Van Noten. This runway success soon transferred in to print, and during the year 2000, Lacroix featured in a fall ad series for Balenciaga and became the leading face of a fall campaign for Jill Sander.

Throughout her career, Lacroix has graced the cover and been the subject of numerous editorials in many different country’s Vogue editions. Her debut cover came in German Vogue in 1999, and in January of 2001, she featured alongside Carmen Kass on the cover of Italian Vogue. This was followed just a month later by an editorial piece in French Vogue with Hannelore Knuts, and the summer of 2001 saw her on the cover of Japanese Vogue. The following year Lacroix featured in an editorial for American Vogue, as well as a cover for French Vogue. From 2002 to 2008 Lacroix returned to Italian, Japanese and French Vogue for numerous covers and editorials, whilst all the while continuing her runway success at spring and fall shows in partnership with houses including Calvin Klein, Porenza Schouler, Helmut Lang and Narciso Rodriguez, as well as print campaigns for Hermes and Miu Miu. [2]

Lacroix’s lasting relationship with Balenciaga has become one of the defining elements of her long and expansive career. From walking for their spring show in 1999, Lacroix came to be featured heavily for the house for next decade and beyond. She was given the honor of opening Balenciaga’s fall show in Paris in March 2000, and did the same again, as well as closing the spring show in 2001. Lacroix continued to be the number one choice by the house for 2002’s New York fall show, and she was reinstated as the face of the house the same year. Lacroix made modeling history in association with Balenciaga in March 2006 when she walked the fall show in Paris for the house for an extraordinary fourteenth consecutive season.

Outside of the modeling world Lacroix, thanks to her Belgian roots, can speak three different languages, French, Flemish and English, and she holds a university degree in political sciences. Though now considered a veteran, Lacroix is still currently regarded as one of the best runway walkers on the modeling scene and as one of the figureheads or veteran models still working today. [3]
