Career

Cooper was spotted at the age of 16 and started modelling with the Models 1 agency, beginning his career with Topman advertisements. At the same time, he also signed a record deal in London, moving south from Manchester. Cooper was briefly represented by former ‘Take That’ manager, Nigel Martin-Smith, before he chose to focus on his modeling career over singing.

In October 2003, Cooper appeared on the cover of Wallpaper, which then becomes the highest selling cover. In 2004 he appeared on the cover of i-D, with his best friend and fellow model, Will Chalker. He appeared in a Dolce & Gabbana campaign, and finished the year by appearing in another i-D editorial, photographed by Tesh.

In 2005, Cooper became the face of Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani, and appeared in a L’Oreal television ad alongside Claudia Schiffer. In 2006 he appeared in print ads for Swatch, and in 2007 he appeared in the spring Tommy Hilfiger ad campaign. In 2008 opened the spring Bottega Veneta show in Milan, and in 2010 he appeared in a Details editorial, photographed by Robbie Fimmano, and modelled for the Louis Vuitton pre-fall ad campaign. In 2011 Cooper modelled for the Banana Republic summer ad campaign, and appeared in another Details editorial, photographed by Roger Deckker. In 2012, Cooper modelled for the Bally fall ad campaign.

More recently Cooper has also been working on his acting career, appearing in episodes of Citizen Khan (2014), Silent Witness (2015) and The Royals (2015).

Weird Model Moment

Since his Diet Coke ad, coke product placements have been popping up all over the place for Cooper; he claims it’s due to “everyone being a comedian”. He also reports once having had to shoot an underwear ad in -18 degree weather.
