 +===== Early Life =====
 +
 +Valencoso is the son of a restaurant owner and homemaker. His mother, Lucia, passed away in 2002, and Valencoso sports her name tattooed onto his chest in her memory. His two younger sisters, Sonia and Silvia, reside with his father in Tossa de Mar.
 +
 +===== Career =====
 +
 +Urged on by his mother and sister, Valencoso began his modeling career after high school, signing on with a talent agency called Group Models. He had a slow start to his modeling career; his well-built physique and buzzed hairstyle were contrary to the European tastes in models at the time. After a series of smaller catalogue shoots, his first big break came in 2002 in the US with the Banana Republic spring ad campaign.
 +
 +In 2003 he starred in the Louis Vuitton ad campaign, alongside Jennifer Lopez, as well as appearing in editorials for French Vogue, and Citizen K. In 2004, Valencoso signed a fragrance contract with Chanel Allure Homme Sport, became the face of Loewe, and appeared in the spring issue of L’Officiel Homme. In 2005 Valencoso was featured on the winter cover of Arena Homme +, and he also appeared in the Jean Paul Gaultier ad campaign alongside Gisele Bundchen and Diana Dondoe. Valencoso was featured on the cover of Japanese Uomo in 2006, as well as appeared in the H&M catalog that same year.
 +
 +In 2007, Valencoso signed a fragrance contract with Jean Paul Gaultier Fleur de Male cologne, became the face of Ermenegildo Zegna, Elie Tahari, and Etro, was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for the fall issue of Vogue Homme, and apperade in a V Man editorial special on Wilhelmina male models. In November of 2007 he was featured on the cover of Spanish Elle, with Petra Nemcova, as well as other top male models. In December he landed on the cover of L’Officiel Hommes, and appeared in an Italian Vogue editorial, alongside Caroline Trentini, and photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg.
 +
 +In 2008 V Man featured Valnsoco and his workout routine. In March he appeared in V again, but this time in an editorial alongside Linda Evangelista and Raquel Zimmermann. That same month he also appeared in an editorial in Spanish Esquire. Valencoso also appeared in another photo shoot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, this time alongside a nude Daria Werbowy for a Vogue Hommes editorial entitled “In Love”.
 +
 +Valencoso was photographed by Milan Vukmirovic for the cover of L’Officiel in 2009, and Chad Pitman photographed him for the fall issue of V Man. 2010 saw Valensoco being photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin once more, this time for the spring Giuseppe Zanotti ad campaign. In 2011 Valencoso became the face of Loewe, appeared in a Spanish Vogue editorial photographed by Alexi Lubomirski, and also appeared in a Harper’s Bazaar editorial, photographed again by Alexi Lubomirski.
 +
 +Throughout his careere Valencoso has graced the covers of countless magazines, including Men’s Health, Apollo, Elle Man, GQ, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Deluxe, Hercules and Officiel Hommes, and in 2012 Valencoso made the jump from fashion model to actor when he starred in the Spanish thriller “Fin” (The End). Since then he has acted in the three-minute comedy short, Tenemos de todo (2013).
 +
 +Wildest Model Moment
 +
 +When asked in a German interview in 2014 what his wildest model moment was, Valencoso tells the story of his initial trip to the States. Arriving at his apartment he realized he was without keys. He spoke no English, and he couldn’t reach his agency, so instead, not knowing what else to do, he sat down on the front steps with his bags. Before long, a couple of model friends from Barcelona stopped by, and Valencoso was pleasantly surprised to discover that the three were to share an apartment.
