Ambrose Olsen

Ambrose Olsen is a well-known American fashion model. Over the years, he has appeared in numerous ad campaigns for Hugo Boss as well as Armani. He was born in Homer, Alaska on November 17, 1985 and began modeling at the age of 17.

Early Life

Growing up, Ambrose Olson lived a relatively simple life. Some of his hobbies included playing sports, such as hockey, surfing, and boxing. Prior to becoming a model, he spent his time studying to be a carpenter and even had plans to volunteer for the United States Navy. in addition, he loved music; two of his favorite artists included Mozart and 2PAC. Modeling sparked his interest in 2002, therefore, he moved to New York City in order to pursue his newfound dream of becoming a famous model.

Modeling Career

About one year after moving to New York, he appeared in his first campaign for Hugo Boss with Raquel Zimmermann. Only two years later, he walked the runway for the first time during the fall Alexandre Herchcovitch show in New York. Shortly after, Steven Klein request Olsen to appear in his D&G ad campaign, which is proudly accepted. He closed the year by appearing on the cover of Wonderland, alongside Sessilee Lopez and Solange Wilvert.

The year 2006 posed to be very busy for Olsen. He modeled for numerous Nautica print ads and also signed a contract with Dior Homme skin care. In 2007, he became the face of Armani Exchange. He also walked the Kim Jones show and appeared in the fall issue of GQ Style, which was photographed by Aldo Rossi. In the same year, he made appearances in the spring issue of Numéro Homme as well as an Out magazine editorial.

During 2008, V Man magazine showcased Olsen's daily life in their spring issue. He also appeared in the spring issue of Very Elle with Leelee Sobieski. Towards the end of the same year, he signed a fragrance contract with the Giorgio Armani Extreme Attitude fragrance.

Death

Sadly, Ambrose Olsen was found dead on at the age of 24 on April 22, 2010. He was found hanged, in his New York City apartment. Police soon after declared it a suicide. Despite his death, many designers and agencies still consider Ambrose Olsen to be one of the top male models to have ever worked in the industry and his highly respected to this day.
