In interviews Ali or Alexandra Michael has stated she enjoys listening to Radiohead and Modest Mouse. She is also fascinated with psychology, as well as enjoys riding horses. She was born in Colleyville, Texas but now resides in New York City for her modeling career. She has a long time boyfriend David Broderick, who is a guitarist for a Texas band called Kingfish.

In 2005 she entered a modeling search contest and won. A year later she was signed with DNA models before making appearances in several shows and editorials. In 2007 She decided to withdraw from Grapevine High School in order to focus on her modeling, although she only had one semester left.

Ali Michael models for ads, campaigns, lookbooks, magazines, and on the runway. She has appeared in a number of magazines and publications including Anew, Bad Day, Elle Australia, Glamour France, Junk, LE, Lady, L’Officiel Brasil and Lucky. She has also had photos in Nylon, Oyster, Paper, Purple Fashion, Rika, Sure, Transmission, Vanity Fair Italy, Vice, Vogue Korea and Vogue Turkey. Most of the brands she has modeled for through IMG include Oasis, Sephora and Sonia Rykiel.

Work History by Year

A few of Ali Michael’s career highlights include Appearing in Elle Italy’s editorial in 2006. A year after her first debut in the editorial she debuted on the New York runway opening for Alice Roi and 3.1 Philip. She also walked for Marc by March Jacobs in London. In March of 2007 she opened the Lanvin fall show in Paris wearing a fuchsia dress. The year was quite busy for her with a story in Style.com naming her a rising star, meeting with Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and appearing in W editorial as a new model. According to information the editor of Vogue congratulated Ali on her first runway season.

Other work for 2007 includes GF Gianfranco Ferre photo shoot, winning the fall cover for French Revue de Modes, and an appearance in Teen Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and a feature in W again. She also walked in the spring Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Dior, and Lanvin Paris show.

Ali’s next year modeling was just as busy with becoming the face of Sportmax, appearing in Vogue, Teen Vogue cover appearance, and she closed the Y & Kei New York show. She walked DKNY, 3.1 Philip Lim, and Marc by Marc Jacobs shows too. In February 2008 she was featured in The Wall Street Journal although the feature was not flattering.

She has appeared on several covers such as Spur and Lula. She also appeared on the Today Show during her early career. Ali Michael still continues to model for runways and magazines like Elle editorials.
